"Rain" - Hollywood Undead
I love this song and someone told me I should learn how to play it so I immediately looked into it. I got basis
from which I tabbed it comes from the Rain (ver 2) Chords by Circus_Monster, but part of it just didn't sound
right with the timing of the song; also I wanted to add a bit to help beginners like me (if you don't need the
help, just skip to the tab).
I am not positive that this is 100% correct, but it is how I play it, and it sounds pretty good with the
recorded version.
Finger picking this song is best. If you don't know much about finger picking, for this song use your thumb on
for any notes on the A and D strings, your index finger for the G string, middle for the B string, and ring
finger for the high E (the low E is not used for this song).
Below the tab I put the corresponding beats for each part because I know it's something I struggle with when I
am trying to learn a song. If you don't know counting in music, (in 4/4 timing) each bar has four beats (quarter
notes: 1 2 3 4). Then eighth notes have half a beat and are counted as so: 1 + 2 + ...etc. Sixteenth notes hold
a quarter of a beat and are counted as 1 e + a ...etc.
Tuning: Standard - no capo
Intro:
e|---3-----3-3---3---2-----2-2-7---0-----0-0---0---2-----2-2-----------------|
B|-----0---------------0-------------0---------------0-----------------------|
G|-------0-----0---------0-------------0-----0---------0-----0---------------|
D|---2-----2-2---2---0-----0-0-5-------------------0-----0-0-----------------|
A|---------------------------------3-----3-3---3-----------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
1 a 2 + 3 4 + 1 a 2 + 3 4 1 a 2 + 3 4 + 1 a 2 + 3 4
For the chorus repeat the intro two more times. The first verse goes through the same pattern four more times.
Then the chorus again. The chorus outro is the same as the intro. The second verse is slightly different as
shown below.
Verse 2 (Charlie Scene):
e|---3-----3-3---3---0-----0-0---0---0-----0-0---0---2-----2-2---------------|
B|-----0---------------0---------------0---------------0---------------------|
G|-------0-----0---------0-----0---------0-----0---------0-----0-------------|
D|---2-----2-2---2-----------------------------------0-----0-0---------------|
A|-------------------3-----3-3---3---3-----3-3---3---------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
1 a 2 + 3 4 + 1 a 2 + 3 4 + 1 a 2 + 3 4 + 1 a 2 + 3 4
That pattern repeats four times before returning to the original one for the chorus all the way until the end.
That picking pattern is basically the whole song. Once again, this is just how I play it and I think it sounds
good. Feel free to mix it up and do what you want.
