Capo: 4
Tuning: E A D G B E
Chord Yang Digunakan
Hey there!
Ed just released his live version of the song Eraser. Here's how I figure he plays it, chords and explanation!
Capo on 4th fret, chords here stated as they look like at this fret
(Actual name of chords are: G#m, E, F#, Eb7, respectively)
Chords used and how Ed takes them (x = do not play):
Verse & Chorus
Em C D
e - 0 - e - 0 - e - 0 -
B - 0 - B - 1 - B - 3 -
G - 0 - G - 0 - G - 0 -
D - 2 - D - 2 - D - 4 -
A - 2 - A - 3 - A - 5 -
E - 0 - E - x - E - x -
Bridge
C G D Dsus4/A C/G B7#9
e - 0 - e - 3 - e - 2 - e - 3 - e - 0 - e - 0 -
B - 1 - B - 0 - B - 3 - B - 3 - B - 1 - B - 3 -
G - 0 - G - 0 - G - 2 - G - 2 - G - 0 - G - 2 -
D - 2 - D - 0 - D - 0 - D - 0 - D - 2 - D - 1 -
A - 3 - A - 2 - A - x - A - 0 - A - x - A - 2 -
E - 0 - E - 3 - E - x - E - x - E - 3 - E - x -
Order of chords and how to play:
Verse & Chorus
Em | C D
As simple as that. This is more or less the whole song, with only short breaks for two Bridges.
Take Em 4 beats, C 2 beats and then simply slide up two frets to the
special D (Dadd4add9)for 2 beats. To play as he does, play the base note (meaning E - 0 - for E,
A - 3 - for C and A - 5 - for D) first and then strum down and mute quickly followed by four quick muted
strums and then again the base note followed by a down strum and then quick up and down strum before
taking the C with the same pattern. Hopefully it makes sense and can help you when you listen to the
live version.
Also, sometimes he only plays E: x0xxx0, C: x1xx3x D: x3xx5x
Bridge
Chord: C G | D D/A | C C/G | B7#9 (silent) |
Beat: III I | III I | III I | III I |
Wrote down chords here together with the beats, to make sense of the quick chord changes.
Easiest is probably always to listen to Ed performing this himself and try to mimick.
This was a quick write up, so let me know if anything needs clarification or needs better explanation 🙂
Good luck!
